Short Term: 2
weeks Long Term: 3weeks- 2 months
Students will work five days a week; pay room & board fee $350/wk. One workday = one lesson (riding or ground work) on either your
own horse or one of TEC’s.
One work day
= 6 hours of work 8am-2:30pm
One work day = one 1 hour private (riding or ground work) lesson
Purpose:
A full immersion opportunity
for students who are looking for various experiences regarding
all aspects of horsemanship and riding. Must be both
reliable and responsible with a self motivated positive attitude to help with daily/weekly
chores, unforeseen situations and horse related activities in exchange for unlimited training and
learning opportunities.
Our facility is NOT a social center, so if you're looking for that "busy
barn" feel , TEC is not the appropriate place for you. Rather we have
clients and horses that travel to work with us from all over the U.S. to
utilize our individualized training style and programs and appreciate the
supportive, nonjudgmental, low key atmosphere.
TEC’s
Goal:
The ultimate goal for us is to find that the student’s
effort, labor and time is beneficial to TEC without having their presence be
a cause for extra concern or stress because of having to “baby-sit” their
actions or decisions.
WE WORK WITH YOUNG & “PROBLEM”
HORSES THAT CAN BE UNRELIABLE AND DANGEROUS. WE NEED STUDENTS TO MAINTAIN
AN AWARENESS, RESPECT AND 110% POSITIVE WORK ETHIC AND ATTITUDE WHEN
PARTICIPATING IN OUR PROGRAM.
Candidate Requirements:
* Must have valid driver's license -
if not, must work the same day as a person who holds one (in the case of an
emergency.)
* Appropriate attire for working with horses.
* NO SMOKING ON TEC PREMISES.
* Three years riding & handling horses. Must submit a current video
of ground work & riding. [We sometimes do have the opportunity for
novice horsemen to participate in our program. Please inquire as to
what our current schedule allows for.]
* Great attitude and open mind for learning.

Facility Maintenance- Dragging pastures, keeping barn area neat and
tidy, etc.- NO STALL CLEANING, mowing (riding mower,) etc.

THIS WILL NOT BE A SLAVE LABOR SITUATION -
THERE IS NO STALL CLEANING OR NORMAL “BARN” OR HEAVY LABOR
REQUIREMENTS
