TEC Working Student Opportunity

Positions available:

Short Term: 2 weeks
Students will work five days a week; pay room & board fee $250/wk, one horse free board.  One workday = one lesson (riding or ground work) on
either your horse or my horse.

Long Term: 2- 4 months
Students will work 3 days a week in four-hour shifts.  One workday= one lesson (riding or ground work) on either your horse or one of mine.

One work day = 4 hours of work 
Shifts: 7am-11am   9am-1pm   11am-3pm
One work day = one 1 hour (riding or ground work) lesson on either your horse or my horse - you do not have to take your lesson on the same day as you work.

Purpose:
To have students consistently on the facility premises who are both reliable and responsible enough to help with daily, unforeseen, and possibly emergency situations and activities in exchange for unlimited training and learning opportunities.

TEC’s Goal:
The ultimate goal for us is to find that the student’s effort, labor and time is beneficial to TEC without having their presence be a cause for extra concern or stress because of having to “oversee” all of their actions or decisions. 

WE WORK WITH YOUNG HORSES WHO MAY BE UNRELIABLE AND NEED ALL STUDENTS TO MAINTAIN A 110% POSITIVE WORK ETHIC AND ATTITUDE.

All accepted students would be put on a three-week trial to make sure that both parties are satisfied with the situation.  DOE - Depending On Experience

Candidate Requirements:

 *        Must have valid driver's license - if not, must work the same day as a person
           who holds one (in the case of an emergency.)
**        Appropriate attire for working with horses.
 *        NO SMOKING ON TEC PREMISES.
 *        Three years riding & handling horses.  May have to submit a video of riding.
 *        Great attitude and open mind for learning.

Duties on a daily, weekly or monthly basis may include but are not limited to:

 *

Tack Cleaning

 *

Catching/bathing/grooming horses

 *

Tacking/Untacking

 *

Round Pen work

 *

Lounging (DOE)

 *

Hacking horses (under supervision) DOE

 *

Jump Assistance

 *

Show/ Clinic Preparation

THIS WILL NOT BE A SLAVE LABOR SITUATION - THERE IS NO STALL CLEANING OR NORMAL “BARN” OR HEAVY LABOR REQUIREMENTS

Additional Opportunities:
Attending competitions & clinics - auditing or participating
Trailer/ Tractor Driving
